The diary opens at Haig Hutments on 21 April 1916. 1916 is the most travelled year, 17 places against 8 in the next busiest, and is spent at Bailleul, Becordel, Caestre, Haig Hutments and Wanel. 1917 is spent at 41st D.R.S Wippenhoek, La Clytte, Steenvorde and Vormozeele.
