The diary opens at He Dauville on 1 January 1917. 1917 is spent at Eringhem, Elverdinghe, He Dauville, Boeseghem and Heninel. It closes at Boesinghe III on 31 December 1917. Elverdinghe is where it spent longest, 38 days, including a single unbroken stay of 28 and it came back to Heninel four separate times. Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include 15 Wood, Paisley Avenue, Canal Bank Near Essex Fm and Sudbury Trench.
