With a career spanning just over 55 years, Lorrae Desmond did it all, pop and jazz singer, recording artist, radio and television presenter, actor, cabaret and theatre performer and playwright. In 1962 she was the first woman ever to win a Gold Logie at the Logie awards and 1984 she won a Silver Logie for her role in hit Australian TV show 'A Country Practice'.This collection from Jasmine contains 30 hand picked tracks Lorrae released between 1954 and 1962. Although none of them were overly successful in the charts Lorrae puts in some fine performances here. 1960 saw Lorrae focus on being a TV personality and she began hosting 'The Lorrae Desmond Show' which ran from 1960 to April 1964 and the rest is history. Lorrae certainly achieved her goal to be an entertainer, in fact an 'entertainer supreme' might be more apt. We hope you enjoy this little musical snippet of her vast and varied career in showbusiness.
