• This product ships directly to your home and may arrive before it has fully bloomed, allowing you to enjoy the growth process.
• Florist mums, the dense, bud-covered varieties sold in pots during fall, are usually considered annuals. They're bred for one-season bloom, have shallow roots, and generally don’t survive winter—especially when planted late in the season.
• Light Requirements: When growing mums, plant in full sun for best results. They need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily to produce strong stems and vibrant blooms.
• Mature Height: 12-24 inches
• Mature Width: 12-24 inches
• USDA Hardiness Zones: 5-9
• Watering Requirements: Water regularly to keep soil evenly moist, especially during warm or dry weather. Allowing the soil to dry out completely may reduce plant vigor and flowering performance.
• Soil Requirements: Grows best in well-drained, fertile soil with consistent moisture. Avoid heavy, waterlogged soils to help promote healthy roots and abundant blooms.
• Where to Plant: When planting mums, remember to choose a place close to a water source, protect from strong winds and make sure the water drainage is adequate. Chrysanthemums are ideal for garden beds, borders, containers, and seasonal landscape displays.
• Bloom Color: Yellow
• Bloom Season: Late Summer through Fall
• Recover From Shipping: Gently remove the plant from its packaging as soon as you receive it, give it fresh water, and allow 24–48 hours for the leaves to rehydrate and settle after transit.
• Help It Thrive: Place the plant in bright, indirect light and avoid repotting for the first few days so it can acclimate to its new environment comfortably.
• Plant With Care if Planting in the Ground: Once acclimated, transfer your plant to fresh, well‑draining soil and water lightly to help it establish strong, healthy roots in its new environment.
• Help keep plastic out of landfills! Bring your empty plant pots back to the Walmart Garden Center for recycling—just ask a Garden Center associate to help give those containers a greener, second life.
• Great for Gifting: A colorful mum makes a thoughtful gift for birthdays, housewarmings, hostess gifts, teachers, or anyone who enjoys seasonal outdoor décor and fresh fall color
